8.4 Highgrove Wedding

It was a beautiful day this past Saturday for our first wedding in August. The skies were clear and the sun was out for the marriage of Bethany and Rob. The couple exchanged vows overlooking the lake as guests watched on and enjoyed using the program/fans to keep cool. After the service, everyone headed to our upper patio to enjoy cocktail hour. The couple had lots of hors' d ourves for their guests to enjoy including our Goat Cheese Stuffed Mushrooms, Fresh Fruit Cosmos, Bruschetta with Fresh Mozzarella and Prosciutto, and also Crab Cakes with Ailoi. After enjoying drinks and appetizers the party headed into our Garden Ballroom where beautiful blue, white, and green hydrangeas adorned each of the tables. The tables also included fun Mad Libs for everyone to fill out. Dinner was served Buffet Style and featured our Summer Garden Salads, Chicken with Herbs de Provence, Pork Tenderloin with Mustard Sauce, Garlic Roasted Mashed Potatoes, and our Seasonal Vegetables. Following dinner, the bride and groom were excited to offer their guests not just a wedding cake, but also a groom's cake, and the bride's favorite-- Whoopie Pies! Our homemade whoopie pies were delicious and the guests were able to choose from Chocolate with Mint Cannoli Filling, Pumpkin with Maple Cream, or Red Velvet with Cream Cheese. The party continued with dancing and then ended with sparklers on the front porch. A great wedding for a great couple! 7.21 Highgrove Wedding

What a hot month it's been for weddings! We were actually thankful this past Saturday though, as the storm clouds passed right over us and brought the temperature down just in time for Caroline and Matt's wedding! The couple shared their vows while 120 guests looked on, down at our pergola overlooking the lake. The bride looked beautiful and so happy as she walked back up the aisle with her new husband! Cocktail hour was on our upper patio and guests enjoyed our Crab Cakes along with Fresh Fruit Cosmos for appetizers. Guests then made their way into the ballroom where they watched on for the first dance and then the father/daughter and mother/son dances as well. Dinner was served Family Style and featured our Summer Garden Salads, Pecan Crusted Bourbon Chicken, Smoked Beef Brisket, Roasted New Potatoes, and Green Beans Almondine. Following dinner, the cake was served along with fresh brewed coffee as everyone enjoyed dancing the rest of the night away. The evening ended on our front porch with a sparkler sendoff. July Wedding at Highgrove

Another busy and very HOT weekend of weddings at Highgrove. We had two wonderful couples share their special days with us-- the images below are from the Saturday wedding.
Our couple exchanged their vows in a sweet and heartfelt service under our garden pergola. They each wrote out vows for each other and the few phrases I overheard were beautiful. Because it was so hot out, the guests enjoyed cocktail hour in the house and ballroom instead of on the outside patio. The window show was the guest seating list-- a popular idea lately! We featured our Ham and Cheddar Biscuits along with Fresh Fruit Cosmos. After the bridal party was announced into the reception, guests enjoyed our Strolling Dinner which included our chef attended Pasta Station (with Pesto, Alfredo, and Marinara sauces), our chef attended carved Beef Tenderloin station, and our fresh salad display with Greek, Caesar, and Summer Spinach Salads, with Grilled Chicken and also fresh breads. The band then opened the dance floor and guests enjoyed partying to a wide range of genres of music-- including swing, oldies, current pop, and more... After the cake was cut, guests were also treated to our Ice Cream station with over 8 toppings and 3 ice cream flavors to choose from. It was the perfect way to end this hot wedding! 6.30 Highgrove Wedding

It was another busy weekend for us, but it was the heat that was the big deal! I didn't work Friday, but here are the images from Saturday's beautiful wedding.
Our couple were married at a church in Cary before heading over for the cocktail hour and reception at Highgrove. Guests arrived to valet service at the front of the house and were then treated to drinks and hors' d ouerves in the house. Appetizers included our Fresh Fruit Cosmos, Crab Cakes, Ham and Cheddar Biscuits, and Beef Tenderloin on Crostini. The party then headed into our Garden Ballroom, where the cool air refreshed everyone as they dined Family Style. The guests enjoyed our most popular entrees including our Summer Spring Mix Salad, Pecan Crusted Bourbon Chicken, Garlic Roasted Mashed Potatoes, Seasonal Squash, and Smoked Beef Brisket. After dinner guests enjoyed dancing to the live band. Following that, the cake was cut and then as a sweet treat for their guests, the bride and groom surprised everyone with an Ice Cream station featuring Mint Chocolate Chip, Vanilla, and Chocolate Ice Cream with all the fun toppings on the side. It was a festive way to keep everyone cool as they enjoyed the music and their dessert. What a hot month of weddings at Highgrove! 6.23 Highgrove Wedding

This weekend was another busy one for us at Highgrove, with three weddings! I only worked Saturday, so that is the beautiful wedding that I captured.
Amanda and Tyler had a stunning wedding filled with gorgeous flowers and delicious food. The couple exchanged their vows under the outdoor pergola, adorned with hanging lanterns and fresh florals. After the ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktail hour on the patio where they were served refreshing Pineapple Spritzers along with Cheddar Biscuits with Ham and also Coconut Shrimp with Red Pepper Sauce. The ballroom welcomed everyone in from the heat, where more beautiful flowers and decor awaited. After sharing their first dance together, the couple and their guests dined on our Summer Garden Salads, Pecan Crusted Bourbon Chicken, Smoked Beef Brisket, Garlic Roasted Mashed Potatoes, and Green Beans Almondine. After dinner, the toasts were made, the cake was cut, and then as a special treat for their guests, the bride and groom welcomed everyone to the S'Mores station outside on the patio. Guests grabbed their marshmallows, chocolate, and graham crackers and then headed over to the fire pit and campsite benches to make their treats. It was a beautiful day from start to end!
