April Highgrove Weddings- 4/20

Congratulations to Meredith and Cole on their gorgeous wedding this past Saturday! The weather could not have been more perfect as the sweet couple exchanged their vows overlooking the lake. Cocktail hour on the patio featured a great offering of delicious food including our: Fresh Fruit Cosmos, Chapel Hill Creamery Cheese and Cracker Display, passed Cuban Sandwiches served with mini Rum and Cokes, and our Shrimp Cocktail Shooters. As a surprise for Cole and Meredith, the parents of the groom had a special ice sculpture brought in-- it was huge! Music was provided by the live violin and guitar which went along perfectly with the feel of the rustic elegant wedding. Inside the ballroom, the amazing flowers welcomed the guests into the reception. Dinner was served buffet style and featured our Garden Salad, Fresh Bread, Chicken Picatta, Roasted New Potatoes, Beef Brisket, and Seasonal Vegetables. As a special treat for their guests, the bride's family also provided Sugar Moravian Cake at the coffee table throughout the night. The party got started early with a huge crowd on the dance floor and a wonderful time was had by all before the sparkler departure on the front porch to send the happy couple off! We were thrilled to enjoy such gorgeous weather for all three of our beautiful weddings this weekend! I hope to have some of the Friday event pictures up soon, but here are some pictures and comments from our Saturday and Sunday affairs.
Our Saturday wedding was a reception only, with our couple exchanging their vows in downtown Raleigh at Edenton St. Methodist Church before heading out to Highgrove for the reception. Guests enjoyed our Carolina Pulled Smoked Sliders and Cheddar Cheese Biscuits with Ham for cocktail hour under our lovely new patio gazebo. We were able to use the ceremony area for an extended cocktail hour space as well, with cocktail tables and decorations. Prior to dinner the guests watched on as Beth and Andy had their first dance along with two other special dances performed by the band. Dinner was served buffet style and following the first course of plated Field Green Salads, guests dined on our Cabernet Braised Beef Short Ribs with White Cheddar Grit Cakes, Pan Seared Chicken Marsala, and Poached Salmon in White Wine Sauce along with Roasted New Potatoes and Seasonal Vegetables. The band opened with their first set of music as the guests enjoyed dancing to the great sound! Champagne toasts, wedding cake, and a special live performance by a guest (a fabulous rendition of a Frank Sinatra song!) ended the evening before the happy couple headed off under a sparkler departure.
